READING AND COMPREHENSION

Sailing Through the Endless Blue

Dowrio and Maglas have always dreamed of exploring the Pacific Ocean. For years, they have been planning their journey, gathering maps, repairing their old boat, and learning about the sea. The two friends have gone on small trips along the coast before, but nothing like this grand adventure.

Since last month, they have been sailing across the endless blue waters of the Pacific. They have met fishermen on distant islands, have drunk fresh coconut water, and have spoken with locals who have shared ancient legends of the sea. Every day, Dowrio and Maglas have been discovering new things: strange birds that have flown beside their boat, dolphins that have leapt from the waves, and even a hidden cove where they have found colorful shells.

But it hasn’t been easy. Storms have broken their mast twice, and they have fought strong winds that almost turned the boat over. At night, while the stars have shone above them, they have been thinking about home and wondering when they might return.

For the past few weeks, they have been enjoying every moment of their journey, even with the difficulties. They have been learning not only about the ocean but also about themselves. Through every challenge, they have grown stronger and more confident.

Their friends back home are waiting eagerly, because Dowrio and Maglas have been sending messages with tales of their adventure since they left the harbor. No one knows how much longer they will sail, but one thing is certain: they have been living the adventure of a lifetime.

A QUIET MORNING BARBECUE

Peter Downglass and Brad Riverborder had been friends for many years. They SHARED a love for NATURE, simple ADVENTURE, and good food. On this bright Saturday morning, they MET early at the club near the SEA, where they had PLANNED a barbecue for their families. Peter had already ACCEPTED the challenge to cook the SMALLEST but tastiest steaks, while Brad had carefully CHOSEN fresh vegetables from the MARKET. Both men had TRUSTED each other’s skills in the kitchen, because they had COOKED together many times before. Since dawn, they had PREPARED the place with care, arranging the table under the LARGEST tree in the garden. It was a JOURNEY of friendship that had LEAPT from quiet talks at the gym to noisy family picnics filled with laughter and joy.By the time the sun was high, Peter and Brad had already FINISHED most of the work. Brad had FLOWN to the MARKET early to buy NEW spices that his wife wanted, while Peter had WASHED the grill and SET the fire.
They had SPOKEN about their FUTURE plans, their daughters’ dreams, and the changes in their CULTURE. Both knew that life had UNEXPECTED turns, but they still BELIEVED in the small things—like this barbecue—that brought people together. The SMALLEST moments often became the most valuable memories. Brad SMILED, remembering how his daughter had SLEPT in the car during the last family TRIP, dreaming of far-off lands and great ADVENTURE.As they grilled the meat and vegetables, the air was filled with rich smells that made everyone HUNGRY. Peter had COOKED the ribs perfectly; they were soft, juicy, and full of flavor. Brad set the sauces on the table and called the children to EAT.

It was not only about food—it was about TRUST, friendship, and love for their families. The NATURE around them stood still and QUIET, the LARGEST birds watching from the trees, as if curious about this human feast. This day, simple but complete, would be remembered not for its grandness but for the warmth it BROUGHT. It was a small, beautiful ADVENTURE they had ACCEPTED without fear, knowing that life was best lived in moments like these, SHARED with trusted friends.
